discuss Does tech make you paranoid?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
Tech and privacy have always been a challenge.
Well, I wouldn't say I don't feel at least a little paranoid about how technology affects my privacy. Its unending data breaches and social media manipulation makes one feel watched all the time.

However, I accept that technology has brought so many good things to my life like the convenience, connection, and access to information with ease, it just has its own drawbacks.

I've always been wary of my front-facing camera. I know that there are backdoors to access it without turning on the light (laptop), so that shouldn't go to say that something like Pegasus couldn't do the same on my smartphone, which is blacked out too.

I cover all mine.

I even cover web cams that are unplugged LOL

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you :D

I used to be paranoid about technology but I've come to realize that the pace of technological advancement is so fast that it is impossible to keep pace with all the types of risks and vulnerabilities attached to it.

I would probably take some basic precautions to secure my privacy, but I'm not obsessed about it. I definitely want to maximize the benefits that technology brings to me to connect with loved ones and for personal growth opportunities.

Many years ago when I was active on Hubpages, I had a little disagreement with a person in an online forum. This person went ahead to find something I had done online that no one knew and publicized it. Well, it was not something I would be embarrassed off but it was something that I though no one knew. It scared hell out of me. Tech, especially the internet is a scary thing.

I understand perfectly where you are coming from. I mean a continuous stream of breaches into our personal lives using social media can almost be so sickening. It's as if protected personal information is just floating in the air, waiting to rain down on a super storm🤣. Do you think there's anyway to restore invasion in aspect of privacy?

You seem to have a point regarding the front cameras. Those back doors can be so bothersome. But haven't you ever thought about any development in tech field regarding safety? I mean, we all need that for sure.
