This comes from personal experience, when I was a kid, if I opened my mouth to sing, my bro would tell me to shut up as he termed my voice "like clarified butter" which was supposed to be bad and it was really mean of him to make fun of me. Despite that I never stopped singing to myself. Years ahead, I still sing to myself and those who hear me praise my voice to such an extend that I finally found confidence to sing in public. I still cannot get the extreme high and low notes to perfection, but I keep trying. I realized that regular singing over the years did indeed make my voice better. Not sure though, it was the only factor.

For those of you who are professional singers, or have good knowledge about singing, can you pls share the factors that actually make one's voice better?

I can practically say yes. Some few years back, I was just a producer that was not interested in singing. I never did vocals. And I had a terrible voice. I started singing within the last three years and if they compare my voice or years ago to my voice today, you won't believe the transformation. I make sure that I sing intensively once every week for my voice to keep improving.
