Distance relationships can make the hearts grow fonder depending on how the participating individuals approached it. The good thing is that technology has made things easier and it could be used to keep you guys in touch and create a strong connection together.
Distance when not excessive can make the heart grow fonder. However, care must be taken to make sure that the distance is not too much such that it can cause abandonment. When a person is too far, it is quite easier to forget about such a person for someone that is relatively closer.
When it comes to relationship stuff, there is no one-size-fits-all. But I don't support the claim that distance makes the heart grow fonder. I think closer in person interaction is what makes the bond to grow.
Relationship requires physical touch, it does not always have to be sexual, but you need to be with your partner. You need to see your partner in real, you need to feel in real, and talk real. If you are away for extended period of time, feelings start withering away.
Yes somehow, people in long-distance relationships tend to maintain their relationships longer. They are less likely to break up, and be more in love I believe. But I love geographically close relationships.
