discuss Do you wish certain TV shows were longer?

This is a thread to discuss anything related to television shows or series.
Chicago Fire is a TV show that I wish were longer, and I have said this for many years. They tend to be around 40-minute episodes, but the show is on TV for an hour, meaning that we get around 20 minutes of ads throughout, which is shocking.

They could do so much more within that time and give us more per episode, and I would love to see that.

Some of the TV shows are truly dragging due to ads taking a significant portion of their time. A lot of them are not as long as we thought but the advertisement is taking a major portion of the airtime which is understandable. I mean, they need to make money.
This is very true. Infact, ads have become annoyingly unskippable even on devices where the option exists! This, sometimes makes me want to abandon watching a show in the middle of it.

The unstoppable ads are so frustrating and they can disrupt our viewing experience but it is understandable that they need to generate revenue. I still think that they should find the balance between ads and content in order to improve overall user experience.

Absolutely! Some TV shows leave you hooked just when they get really good. You invest in the characters, only to be left with a rushed ending or a cliffhanger forever. It's like ordering dessert and getting just one bite. Great stories deserve the time to fully unfold. Yes, sometimes we just need one more season!

I recall, the TV shows that were aired earlier lasted 30 minutes with about 15 minutes of advertisements in between. I remember the frustration I used to feel whenever the ad were shown. I wished the shows were longer than just 15 minutes a day! Did you ever had this kind of experience?
This is why I don't blame some people who prefer to download all of their movies and TV shows instead of streaming them online in order to avoid having to deal with ads all the time.
