discuss Do you regret any of your previous relationships?

This thread focuses on relationships, including communication, dynamics, challenges, advice, and their impact on personal growth and connections.
I regret at least two of my relationships in the past. The first one was when I was with someone who decided to let me down on Valentine's Day after he instead decided to leave town and head somewhere else, but didn't tell me.

My last relationship, that is the one I regret the most, was a mentally abusive relationship, and it took me around 11 years to finally speak up and get help to get out.

I have regretted a relationship that I had when I was 23. Baby girl was not even into me but agreed to date me because of money. You can imagine the emotional abuse I had to endure because she always did things without considering how I felt about it. And I was blinded by love. And never noticed. Took me two years to admit to myself that I was being used.

Fortunately I don't regret any past relationships. I taught myself about the value of forgiveness, the importance of always learning something from anything and/or anyone, and that it's okay that people outside of family come and go. This last was a lesson that I learned from a latest friendship that I had to cut off strictly because of too much dissonance between them and I. Learned a lot with and from that person, so nothing to regret.
