Songs in musicals are ok, if the songs are in the background, that is also fine but I cannot tolerate songs like those in Bollywood movies. These dance sequences give a bad taste.
I enjoy the song in a movie. it is the theme song of the movie, specifically chosen by the movie director. The song also jives with the theme and plot.

Not unless it’s a musical, I usually focus more on the story and visuals. But when songs are part of a musical, they really add to the experience and emotions. Otherwise, background music is more subtle and doesn’t grab my attention as much.
