Valentine's day has been dedicated to show love and affection to people that we care about. People feel excited and special when they receive flowers or gifts from their beloved ones. It makes them feel important. Do you make a point of commemorating this day for someone that means a lot to you? How do you celebrate Valentine's day?

I don't celebrate-celebrate Valentine's Day. However, I always come back home that day with a mixed bouquet of yellow roses — my wife's favorite color — and a card.

We save the bigger celebrations for anniversaries, of which, our 20th is coming up soon and I hope to remarry her, unofficially, but something she deserves. I want to give her something better than a "courthouse marriage", which we had to do with a $1000 budget at the time. The hardest part of planning that will try to get body measurements down for a dress she can slip into – ring size? Check.

She doesn't do anything in return for me on V-day as we have White Day for men.

Valentine's Day is not something I celebrate. I always see people who go all out for Valentine's Day, and have never understood why they wait for Valentine's Day to do something they could do any other day of the year.

I don't mind being wished a happy Valentine's Day by my partner, but he understands that I don't celebrate like others do.

We celebrate Valentine's day with handmade cards and sweet treats called *"douceurs"*.
I personally cook a special meal for my family - love isn't just romantic here, it's communal.
Have you ever experienced Caribbean-style Valentine's traditions?

I also don't celebrate Valentine's Day. It is just the normal day for us. Just like you, we celebrate anniversaries. As long as budget permits, we go on a retreat. If not, we go to a restaurant and have a dinner with kids. We don't buy cakes and champagne but we eat our favorite foods.
