The man, Sergio Busquests was effective for Barcelona and Spain. It seemed people didn't really see his role and contribution to the Barcelona and Spanish teams that dominated world and club football. He did his job effectively but was never flamboyant and always went unnoticed. Do you think Sergio Busquests didn't get the accolades he deserved in his career?

Sergio Busquests was the cog that allowed Xavi and Iniesta to flourish in that midfield. It was very difficult for an opponent to rob the ball from Sergio Busquests while in possession. And he knew how to recycle possession very quickly.
You're very correct. It would have been very difficult for Xavi and Iniesta to have the kind of control and dominance they had in La Liga without what Sergio Busquests did in the Barcelona's team.

He was the silent destroyer. He was not as creative as the Xavis and Iniesta but he did his work so well. Tidy in possession and recycling of the ball. I always tell people that want to argue that Guardiola was right to send Yaya Toure and Keita away for Busquets to play and people argue.

His job wasn't anything about being creative but doing all the dirty work for the team so that Xavi and Iniesta will have free room to make the team tick very well in scoring goals.
