What are the dietary fibres you take in a day?

I read a book called 'How Not To Diet' and they recommend adding dietary fibres for two main reason:

1. They form short chain fatty acids that help in activating messengers in the dietary system to maintian gut health.
2. They soak up nutrients from the dietary pool for transfer to the cells.

Here are what I add:
1. Dates - atleast 5 in number
2. Maize/Corn - usually the baby corn variety.

I increase my dietary fiber consumption by adding various healthy whole foods to my meals. The sources which give me the highest dietary fiber are leafy greens like spinach, kale and legumes like brown rice.
I absolutely love KALE.

When I feel hungry, I have boiled eggs, some Kale and if possible an avocado.

This combines a lot of greens as well as fibre in the diet. From what I have understood, chlorophyll, the green pigments in all these enhance the action of small chain fatty acids in the body.
