Sam Altman, the CEO, was so boastful of his enterprise that he asked countries to build a generative AI software that can rival his in their lifetime. Three days later, China announces its first generative AI that works many times faster and efficient than ChatGPT with very less capital investment.

Just when this was announced, NASDAQ alone tanked 3% wiping billions away from the market.

When do you think all the money lost will enter into the market? What could be the implications?

It did wipe away billions from the market but just like most Chinese products, it is just a cheap copy of Open AI's ChatGPT. People are using it because it is open source and completely free, but I really doubt that it will last long

I dont think its that simple.

Innovation comes from sharing of data. One of the biggest issues with ChatGPT is that its not open source so that we never know how the system works, what the AI learns and from what and its effectively pausing the entire gamut of innovation working in the AI industry.

This is where DeepSeek is denting the narrative.

If ChatGPT doesnt release its atleast abridged version as open source, things might move to the Chineese side soon.

According to recent reports DeekSeek has just 17 percent accuracy, if that's true, I don't see its longevity. It might exist there but I do not think it overtaking ChatGPT

Added to this, if you visit the ChatGPT website now, they have introduced, though experimental, AI engines that can also provide the users with reasoning for the answers the programme generated for their queries.

Even if the accuracy is low, for a country like China to do it, inspite of all the limitations pouts me in such awe.

Sam Altman is seeing the market shrinking, that is why all the new initiatives and market expansion has been agreed to by him.

The reason why ChatGPt cost a lot of money and DeekSeek was created with a small budget is because China has slave labor. I also believe it is a cheap version of ChatGPT. If you have used it, you will have DeepSeek's language closely resembles with ChatGPT language.

Ooh. Thats new to me.

I wont be using it mainly because of the huge privacy concerns I have with it.

Additionaly, as you believe, it also is not a technically superior version of chatGPT.

It is completely free and can be used locally because it is also open source. These are the two things that put DeekSeek in the highlight but it is not superior.
