In many countries, the law mandates that there should be a minimum cooling off period (of around 2 years) before which one can apply for divorce with courts statutorily barred from granting seperation in the first instance.

Do you think seperation must be restricted with such cooling periods and other statutory instruments?

Since divorce pushes men to pay alimony, I think there should be cooling period, either to get a divorce or to remarry after divorce. I see a lot of women get divorce in few months of being married, take the alimony and then start dating another guy soon after.

It is necessary to cool off before divorce takes place except if it's a toxic relationship. Sometimes when you make hasty decisions, you might go the wrong way and that is why cooling off is necessary. Sometimes, when I pick up a fight with my partner, I discover that those fights are not even necessary after cooling off.
How do the law identify toxic relationships?

Had it not been toxic, then there wouldnt be much divorce cases, right?

I think a cool off period after a divorce application before it is granted was just the best part of the divorce process. There are people that had acted impulsively and applied for a divorce. That cool off period is a chance for such people to come their senses after they have become calm to make rational decision on proceeding with the divorce or not.
