discuss Can you stay awake at night to watch live sports?

A thread for live match analysis, player performances, scores, highlights, fan predictions, and general sports discussions across all sports.
If it is a world cup match that involves one of my favourite national teams like Brazil, France etc, I would stay awake and watch the match. A champions league semi finals and final? I would stay awake to watch it. That's how deep my passion for football is.

I’ve done it a few times, especially for big events like the Super Bowl or World Cup.
It’s tough but totally worth it when the game is exciting!
Do you have a favorite sport or team you stay up for?

I used to stay awake late at night to watch live sports but I don't do that anymore because of life responsibilities. Sacrificing my sleep this time can be very tough.
Like seriously? Why would I do that when it's possible to rewatch the match again whenever it's much convenient? I know better not to stress myself unnecessarily.

There are matches that are played in other regions and the time difference makes it to be live late at night in my location. I have stayed awake to watch football matches involving my national team in Olympics and World Cup competitions.

This is not a problem for me as I am a night person. However, I would only stay up for matches that would interest me and not every match. This becomes even more interesting if you have a good company to watch the match with.

I watch football but it is just 90 minutes match, sometimes 120 minutes, or even 150 minutes if there is no winner. I don't have to stay awake all night to watch the football
It was like how long it took watching Manchester United vs Lyon in the Europa League. It almost went to penalty shootout but United managed to win it after 120 minutes of play. The match ended around 11-12AM.

If it is a sporting event that I have a strong interest in, such as WWE Live Events or even something such as the World Cup, I will do what I can to stay awake and watch it.

Just this past weekend was WrestleMania 41, and I don't know how I did it, but I managed to stay awake both nights until 4 am to watch it.

We have people who can never let anything disturb their sleeping time. That is to say that once it is time to sleep, they are off to bed. Are you someone who wouldn't mind staying awake just to watch sports events and matches that interest you?
if its a match that i really care about, sleep can wait.
But on a regular day,i am one of those "do not disturb i am sleeping" type of people.
Gotta pick my battles and my teams wisely

What sports team do you like to watch? Do not disturb is one of my favorite features as well.

This is good. Prioritising sleep when your team is not playing is very good. That is a good way to stay out of any issues that may arise from not having a good sleep.

Unless it's during the weekend when I don't have to go to work in the morning, I will watch a match until whenever it's over and sleep through the whole morning. I can't stay awake too late, have less sleep and he feeling like a zombie in the morning at work because of football.
