off-topicCan you learn a new language in just a few months?
Learning a language in just few month like 3-5 months, sounds impossible but with right people surrounding you and commitmet, it's doable. I firmly believe that consistent practice helps a lot in language learning.
Agree totally! I find it very difficult to study foreign language so fast because I know that it takes time especially when I made an attempt to study german.
For me, absolutely not. I took two years of Spanish in high-school and was mediocre at best. It was easier to learn as it follows the sentence structure of English, so you really only need to learn words and the masculinity and feminity of nouns. Compared to Japanese where the sentence structure is all over the place, it's been 15 years and I still sound like a kindergartener. That said, for whatever reason, I can hear and interpret it at about 80%. So, I know what's being said, I just can't respond as well, or sometimes, at all.
I went to a French language class for 2 months and I couldn't even learn a thing but I know a lot of people who have managed to learn language and speak fluently just in 3-4 months.
I'm also doubtful about learning for 3 months straight in a language. It takes years to learn a language and feel comfortable with it. You may pick up a few basics but fluency of the real kind will take much longer.
I have a very good ear for languages. And I believe that with consistent interaction with the language, I would be able to master the basics of a language in five months and speak it significantly.
It is very possible to learn a new language in just a few months but that has to depend on two factors. The first one is your learning ability and the second one is how complex that language is. These factors will determine the period it will take you to learn it.
