discuss Can We Believe What We See (or Hear) in an AI-Generated World?

A thread covering the latest news on trends, groundbreaking technologies, and digital innovations reshaping the tech landscape.
AI generated content is saturating the internet. The Deepfake and synthetic media are also on the rise and this makes it very hard to distinguish fake from fiction.

So to keep up with the game, we need to develop a new tool that would help to verify the authenticity of information online. It’s definitely going to be a cat and mouse game but it's great towards achieving authenticity.

There's also now AI-generated videos, AI-pictures and more. There are people creating videos that are more releastic than ever. You have google at one of the fore fronts with their "VEO" system. CapNCUT and other services also allow you to create ai-generated videos. With companies doing this, it'll be tough to develop new tools to call out fake content, however, they do probably exisit.

It's a tough era all around, but as long as companies are sponsoring this type of content, another company will need to come up with a detection service.
