Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
People are creating their own gender and race in these time. Since Andrew in the movie wants the society to accept him as a man, not as a rob. He doesn't want to be addressed as a robot.

In Bicentennial Man he really tries to improve his world and change for the better in an attempt to pursue his dreams as human. First, Andrew is a robot with weakness by chance some fault allows him to go beyond his computer program and think like human.

However, this essentially means he is gradually almost becoming a human. In fact this job was pretty much made perfectly by Robin Williams. His actions alone might be enough to make people laugh. In this film, as far as I am concerned, he is right on track as far as acting lpis concerned. It's a very interesting film to watch. I recommend it.
