These days it has become very easy to either stream a movie with your smartphone or download one and watch. While some persons would rather stream their movies from streaming apps like Netflix and the likes, there are those like me who prefer downloading it and watching offline with apps like VLC player or xplayer. What app would you consider as the best video player app for mobile?

I have VLC installed on my phone, as it transfers from phone to phone when I upgrade, but I haven't had to open it in a while.

The native app that's pushed out for playing videos on a Samsung Galaxy usually suffices in playing all the codecs/videos I have ever opened. I haven't come across a video that I downloaded that couldn't be viewed in the native app, so there hasn't been a need to even use VLC anymore.

For me, using VLC player for mobile is perfect. It’s free to use, compatible with almost any file format, and has additional useful functions like subtitles and equalizer. MX Player is another app that is more or less similar. I have also used it.

That's awesome, I have used VLC for mobile but I don't think I have used mx player. Between the two which would you consider to be better?

VLC and MX Player are good movie applications because I have used them also and they are really good. VLC is quite basic and can be used on a range of devices. Some of the special features of MX Player are subtitles and online streaming. MX Player is more enhanced compared to VLC.

If MX Player has the option for subtitles, then it is a major advantage for anyone who is looking for an application to watch movies. Subtitles are what makes watching movies to be really good.

I was using VLC long back. I switched to BitTorrent and was very happy with it until I guess it got barred for most movies in my countries. For some movies, VPN was working just fine. Later it became difficult to download most movies and that's when I gave up. I started using MX Player, which I found was very convenient since I could stream easily and did not have to download the movies and use my smartphone for that.

I love MX players because of its ability to handle different file formats and also the in-built subtitles support that it comes with. It's a fantastic feature.
