discuss Are you too sensitive to ride public transport?

This thread covers all aspects of ideologies, including beliefs, principles, traditions, policies, and their influence on society and culture.
I tend to ride public transport a lot due to my health condition whilst I am learning to drive and passing my test. I don't mind it in the town I live in unless it gets really busy, then I tend to get anxious.

I can't head out on my own though, so I always go on public transport with my daughter.

In August, we are going to London to a concert, we are super excited about it as we never thought we would get tickets. Hoping I am not too bad on the underground there.

I'm in a rural area. Public transportation wouldn't make sense for me. I drive.

However, if I lived in a city, I would most likely travel by bike everywhere. Rain or shine, I'd likely park my vehicle or not have one and just use a bicycle.

However, my love for cycling isn't enough to make me move to a city. I'd much rather keep enjoying the peace and quiet of the boonies!

There is rampant drug use and criminal activity on the city transportation system, where I intend to go with my daughter. I wouldn't put myself at risk of being around that, let alone my 13-year-old daughter. So, I will pay more for Uber if I cannot get a rental on the first day.

unless I was armed with a loaded gun.
Ditto. But even then, you pull the trigger, and you're the criminal in the US if you come from a certain background and take out an obvious criminal. Daniel Penny, albeit by his mighty arm, is a good case to refer to here (notice Daniel Penny isn't the Wiki link, rather a link that paints him as the criminal in this case, even though it clearly says it was dismissed/not guilty).
I'm hesitant to use train transport in the US due to the burned woman in NYC last year.
Yeah, there's just too much craziness in those tunnels and on the buses to want to be around. I'll take my $50/day rental to avoid all that...

You can add this to your list of examples on why not to get on NYC trains, too. 🤮

Has anyone seen the Tom Green video of him screaming on a Japanese subway? :D
No, but he was one of my favorites when I was young. Now we have nuisance streamers here doing it, and facing jail time, for all of their actions combined.

It should've just stayed with Tom Green, in the past, as it's becoming problematic here...
