Only six clubs have been ever-present in the Premier League: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. These are unofficially known as 'the big six'. Do you think they still are? Man City are absent from the list. If you had to pick a team to remove from the big six to fit City in, who would it be and why would it be Everton? :ROFLMAO:

In my own opinion, the big six label is old fashioned and there is need to make some amendments. Man. City has been so consistent and dominating, indicating that it deserves to be included in the big six circle. If I had to remove a team to make room for the football giant, Man city, I would pick Everton because other teams there have maintained consistency over time.

No, they are not. Look at the team occupying the top 6 in the English Premier League table this season. Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Manchester City and so on. Last season, it was something similar. The big 6 are no longer what they used to be.
The Big Six is not just the top six teams. You're looking at it with an almost childlike simplicity. There is history, legacy, impact, influence. There are many factors to consider.

Everton had a deeper and more consistent legacy in English football before oil money rewrote the table. They were historically one of the dominant clubs, both in the early league era and in the 1980s, and helped shape the game in terms of stability, identity, and influence. Manchester City had bright moments, but Everton cast the longer shadow.

If we're talking about who mattered more to English football history before the money came in, it's Everton.

Everton have played every season in the premier league since it's inception. City were relegated in '96 and didn't return until 2002.
