fitness Are Memes a Coping Mechanism or a Way to Avoid Real Issues?

This general fitness thread covers all aspects of fitness, including workouts, nutrition, wellness tips, lifestyle changes, and fitness advice.
Memes can definitely be a coping mechanism—they make heavy topics more approachable and help people feel less alone. But if they're used constantly to deflect or avoid processing real emotions, it can delay healing. I think the key is balance: laugh when you need to, but don’t ignore what’s underneath.

Memes are jokes, they are funny and in the mean time might also carry some serious meaning. Since they appear funny at first a lot of people engage with it. I don't think people are trying to avoid real issues by creating and sharing memes, they are just trying to have fun.

I never really thought too deep into memes other than they're essentially the shortest form of short form content.

If you don't like a meme, you can instantly scroll off, but you might start a 3-minute short form video and realize 2 minutes in, you don't like it, so you've wasted so much more time on a video than a meme.
