One appeal of US isolationism is that poor guys from small town America and the ghetto are sick of fighting "forever wars". However, though, is that the price for standing up for justice? Many have called the US cowardly for backing away from Ukraine.
And another appeal of isolationism is sticking up for local workers, and obviously the guys down at the auto or steel plant are going to be for that (and Michael Moore etc.), but the reality is that blocking free trade seems to have never worked, and now the US promoting this idea and at the same time, preventing other nations from looking out for their own interests (opposition to BRICS, for instance).
